Common Denominator

This week, students are comparing unlike fractions. In order to do this, they must first find a common denominator.  Next, they can find an equivalent fraction using the common denominator. Then they can compare the like fractions. Here is an example of how to find the common denominator: skip count! Whatever number both numbers land on on the number line can be a common denominator!
