Since little to no research correlates academic success and homework in elementary school, I will not be assigning any homework. This will be my second year of having a no homework policy. Students are still encouraged to read / practice math facts / make connections to what we are learning in class / post on our class blog etc. but I find that it is much more meaningful when the learning takes place voluntarily.
If parents would like for me to recommend additional practice opportunities for their child I am absolutely more than willing to do so. Please just send me an email and I will provide you with a list of activities / websites that your child can use to work on their skills at home.
