Examples of Seed Projects

Please check out these examples of past seed projects.  For this project, you need to collect and display 10 seeds.  Be creative in your presentation and don't forget that neatness counts! Seed projects are due on Tuesday, October 13th.

Planting our Wisconsin Fast Plants!

Today we had a very special guest in third grade! Mrs. Veilleux, a retired teacher from HMS, came in to help us plant our Wisconsin Fast Plants.  Over the next 45 days, our class will be observing the life cycle of a plant from seed to seed.  Along the way, we will be discussing the parts of a seed and their function, parts of a plant, bees, and much more!

Friday Assessments

This Friday, September 18,  we will have our first spelling and reading assessments.  Please make sure to practice your spelling words for the week.  Also, don't forget to read Rugby and Rosie for homework.

Great first week in 3L!

We had a great first week in 3L! We got to know our new classmates by sharing our mystery bags, and  we learned all about our new school.  We started chapter one in math and are using our manipulatives, base ten blocks, place value charts, and place value strips, to compare and order numbers.  We are learning that vocabulary in math is VERY important and are working to correct each other when talking about math.  We absolutely love our fact fluency practice time each morning! In reading, we have been practicing all of our workshop actives.  So far, we have learned about Reading to Self, Read with Someone, and Work on Writing! We can't wait to see what next week has in store!  Enjoy the long weekend!
