Seed Parts Quiz

Don't forget that the seeds part quiz is this week! Mrs. Largy's class will be taking the quiz on Monday, September 29 and Mrs. Bradley's is schedule for Thursday, October 2.  Use those study guides!

A BIG thank you!

Thank you to all of the families that joined us for the ice cream social last night! It was terrific to see the students showing everyone around our class and school during the scavenger hunt!  I absolutely loved seeing all of the smiling faces and hope that everyone had a great time.  Don't forget - if you have not yet signed up a parent teacher conference, please contact me asap to do so.

I scream, you scream, we ALL scream for ice cream!

Tonight is the third grade ice-cream social!  Please visit our classroom between 6:00 and 7:30 pm.  During this time, parents will be able to sign up for conferences.  Students will also be responsible for taking their families on a tour of the building and then it's ice cream time!  Don't miss this great event!  Also, be sure to thank the Hooksett PTA for putting this all together!

This Week's Assessments

On Friday, students will be taking their first Imagine It assessment to demonstrate their reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar skills.

Students will also be taking the first Test Prep for chapter one of the Math in Focus program, numbers to 10,000.  In this chapter, we discussed counting, place value, and comparing and order numbers.  A chapter review will be sent home in order to help all students be successful in demonstrating their understanding of this chapter.  See below for the Chapter One Wrap Up.

NWEA Testing Schedule

Please see below for the dates and times of our NWEA testing.  Make up dates are to be determined.

Thursday, September 11th 9:00 to 10:30 - READING
Thursday, September 18th 9:00 to 10:30 - MATH

Please be sure to do your personal best on each test!

Our first unit of science has begun, PLANTS! Students have had their first science lab as they observed a seed and recorded information.  Next, we made predictions about what we think the seed will look like after being soaked in water over night.  We are anxiously waiting to find out!

Super Students!

Our behavior clip chart is up and running! Each day, students have the opportunity to be recognized for making expected choices in class and going above and beyond to be a model student.  On the first day of using the chart, we had SIX students reach the very top level! These students were recognized by their classmates at the end of the day and also earned a certificate to take home!  Way to go William, Jeremi, Jacob, Joshua, Jake M, and Ethan!

HOT HOT HOT!

It is going to be a HOT week in 3L!  Please be sure to bring a water bottle to school with you this week to help stay hydrated! We will also keep our windows open and fan on to help move the air as much as possible. I'm ready for Fall!
